Our Supply Chain Management (SCM) controls the movement and storage of all raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods from purchasing and incoming goods to manufacture, storage and distribution.
Purchasing
We source raw materials from suppliers worldwide. Our general purchasing conditions, quality assurance agreements and supply contracts form the base of each relationship. Our customers are able to select from a vast portfolio of different raw materials and finished products, which are only released after successful completion of our internal registration approval and quality assurance.

We expect all our raw material suppliers to meet the following criteria:
Supplier: GMP certification, HACCP certification, trading licence due to national rights, licences for the production of products of animal origin
Raw material: raw material monograph conformity, European Union food-law conformity
Incoming goods
We offer the following services:
- Receipt of goods and incoming inspection
- Storage of raw materials and packaging material
- Software-supported storage system (e.g. FeFo principle)
- Retain sampling / batch sampling
- Release analysis of the retained samples by Swiss Caps
- Examination and handling of returned goods
- Appropriate storage facilities
- Monitoring of the storage conditions (temperature and humidity)
- Holding and controlling of maximum storage times (shelf-life for raw materials, packaging material and finished product)
Storage
Swiss Caps uses a computer-controlled and air-conditioned automatic high-rack warehouse
(15°-25° C) as well as cooling storage capacities (2°-8°C). Also, highly sensitive Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) can be stored at our Kirchberg site. After receipt of goods, batch sampling and storage of retained samples are completed according to GMP guidelines. In order to guarantee a smooth order completion, Swiss Caps offers the possibility of a continuous inventory in addition to the standard annual inventory.
Distribution
At all our sites we have air-conditioned warehouse facilities with computerised stock control via a bar code system. Swiss Caps provides complete batch documentation suitable for shipment worldwide and can provide advice and expertise to our customers on export and customs issues relating to their products.
