We believe that sustainable business practices can be cost-effective, build employee and customer loyalty, and even drive new business for the company.
We aim to conserve natural resources and minimise waste through recycling; handle and dispose of waste through safe, environmentally responsible methods; encourage energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources; and encourage our customers and suppliers to strive for the same high levels of environmental performance.
Our Environmental Management System is certified to the internationally recognised standard ISO 14001 at our Kirchberg and Bad Aibling sites, and is also part of our continuous improvement programme.
Environmental Protection Philosophy
Environmental protection means preserving the basis of natural life for ourselves and for future generations. Environmental protection therefore also forms the basis of future business activities: “Doing business in harmony with nature and the environment”. Environmental protection is a top corporate priority for SWISS CAPS AG, and the company declares the following environmental philosophy to be the basis for all decisions made within the company:
| 1. | Environmental protection is most effective when everyone contributes to it. Therefore, every employee working at SWISS CAPS is instructed and informed to the extent enabling him or her to actively participate in environmental protection efforts. |
| 2. | Any environmental problems must be identified and may require creative solutions for our immediate environmental protection. Therefore, SWISS CAPS investigates the environmental impact of every new product, every process and every new activity in advance. |
| 3. | The interactions between SWISS CAPS and the environment are continuously monitored, documented and analyzed for weaknesses to ensure our production processes are ecologically optimized by all available means. |
| 4. | SWISS CAPS strives for continuous improvement of its in-house environmental protection program, which often goes beyond legal requirements. In this effort, it welcomes suggestions and initiatives to promote the improvement of environmental protection activities. |
| 5. | One of our key aims is to reduce water, energy consumption and waste. This is central to the company’s environmental protection programme. This enables limited natural resources to be used in a responsible manner. |
| 6. | An incident management system is in place to help avoid environmental accidents and exposure of employees and the local community to any hazards. |
| 7. | SWISS CAPS operates a continuous improvement programme and regularly reviews the company’s environmental targets. |
| 8. | SWISS CAPS is prepared to conduct an open dialogue with the public on the impact on the environment caused by production activities, and also welcomes the involvement of the authorities. |
| 9. | SWISS CAPS integrates its suppliers and other companies in its environmental protection concept, giving preference to companies for which environmental protection is as high a priority as for SWISS CAPS itself. |
